Tool and Die Repair - 2nd Shift

Job Description

PURPOSE

Repair a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, templates, inspection fixtures and gauges and similar devices. Change over and set up various types of die, utility presses and other production equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Work from EAM work orders and record labor and inventory transactions in EAM.
  2. Work from production schedule to stage housing side and utility press dies.
  3. Change over dies in tool room. Take dies apart and change out details to run a variety of different parts.
  4. Interact with shop floor computer terminals to record time and production activities.
  5. Troubleshoot operating problems with tools and dies, determine appropriate action and make repairs.
  6. Disassemble worn or damaged die, determine extent of wear or damage, repair, replace, adjust, prepare and tryout die.
  7. Alter and repair a variety of tools, templates and dies including blanking, piercing, bending, forming, drawing and other stamping dies; welding, drilling and assembly templates, jigs and fixtures.
  8. Perform difficult bench work involving filing, grinding, lapping, fitting and polishing.
  9. Able to use manual mill, lathe and surface grinders.
  10. Use calipers, micrometers, verniers, comparator and other precision measuring instruments to maintain close tolerances.
  11. Be able to read and interpret Blueprints and check parts verify they match the drawings.
  12. Assist with die setting at presses.
  13. Operate forklift, walk behind forklift, and overhead crane as required.
  14. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  15. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Successful Candidates should have:

  • A high school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to perform continuous repetitive motions.
  • The ability to operate factory machinery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong people skills
  • The ability to problem solve and make decisions independently
  • The ability to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.
  • The ability to follow all safety protocols.
  • A reliable means of transport

 

Pay Rate: $26.68/hour

Hours: 1:00PM – 11:00PM Monday – Thursday. Must be willing to work OT throughout the week and or Fridays.
