- Receiving and unloading: Unload freight manually or with equipment, and check for damaged goods
- Verifying orders: Ensure that the quantity and quality of the order match the purchase order
- Inventory: Maintain inventory records, and participate in physical inventories
- Shipping and receiving: Wrap, package, and ship supplies, and deliver and retrieve supplies
- Cleaning: Keep loading and docking areas clear, and clean machinery
- Safety: Wear safety gear, such as gloves and goggles, when handling tools
- Customer service: Answer phones and provide information about supplies or property
- Damage claims: Prepare damage claims for a supervisor to review and sign
- Disposal: Coordinate the disposal of surplus property
