Job Description
Summary:
The Automation Maintenance Technician collaborates with internal teams and equipment manufacturers to enhance the programming, automation, and mechanical functionalities of the production process continually.
Salary: $30 - 38/hr.
Shift: 7am - 4pm
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with OEM and Operations team to oversee and manage spare parts inventory essential for maintaining equipment efficiency.
- Identify critical spare parts and optimize inventory based on cost and lead-time considerations while prioritizing reliability.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promptly report any hazards to supervisors.
- Conduct inspections to identify machinery requiring maintenance or repair.
- Perform repairs on Production and Converting machinery and associated systems, including electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic control circuits and systems.
- Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance tasks using CMMS/ERP systems, optimizing schedules to minimize downtime and impact on deliveries.
- Utilize OEM and local instrumentation, hardware, and software to develop dashboards and data collection methods to enhance equipment reliability, safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, contracts, and other correspondence as needed.
- Take responsibility for the reliability and functionality of machinery.
- Support safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct thorough root cause investigations for process-related breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment, and perform VFD and PLC programming and motor control installations.
- Inspect electrical system equipment to identify and rectify issues.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems to determine root causes.
- Test electrical systems and circuit continuity in equipment.
- Replace faulty components such as motors, sensors, photo eyes, switches, and relays.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the management team.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- College-level degree in Electrical and/or Controls preferred.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and installation.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in Maintenance Automation and Controls roles.
- Proficiency in PC skills.
- Experience with CMMS and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with Siemens PLC troubleshooting & programming.
