Axiom is seeking Machine Technicians on 1st and 3rd (12 hour) shifts for a Food Manufacturing company located in Winchester, VA! These positions are Seasonal, however they do have the potential to become permanent for the reliable, highly accurate, and enthusiastic team player. The primary responsibility of the Machine Technician is setting up and controlling the paper line filler equipment in a highly efficient manner, as well as, ensuring that all preventive maintenance items are performed correctly, and in a timely manner, and corrective maintenance are addressed using own technical skills and available resources.

The Machine Technician is responsible for the following:

• Monitor equipment to ensure it is running properly at all times

• Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment

• Addresses issues and makes adjustments to machines and equipment to minimize downtime

• Determines 'bottlenecks' and takes action to improve/correct

• Makes controlled adjustments to equipment to optimize running efficiency

• Must maintain all documentation regarding orders, equipment maintenance, open issues, etc.

• Enter work orders into the computer system to generate corrective actions

• Must ensure resources are available and must set up next shift for production run

• Communicates between shifts and with all production teams to ensure successful production run each day

• Maintains Quality, Safety, and Cleanliness standards at all times

• Performs cleaning and any other necessary duties as assigned

• Attends meetings to obtain necessary information to perform daily tasks and communicate with other departments/teams

• Shifts Available include:

  • Day: 6am-6pm, 2-2-3 schedule (works 3-4 days/week between Sunday and Saturday), $18/hr

  • Night: 6pm-6am, 2-2-3 schedule (works 3-4 nights/week between Sunday and Saturday), $19.50/hr

Requirements for consideration for the Machine Technician position include the following:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required

• Minimum of 3 years experience in Manufacturing

• Preferred 5 years experience in Food Production

• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, etc)

• Demonstrated troubleshooting and mechanical experience

• Demonstrated ability to learn complex systems and concepts

• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion, under stressful situations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent teamwork and ability to work effectively with others to accomplish goals

• Willing and able to work in confined areas that may be difficult to access

• Willing and able to wear full-face respirator and full-cover PPE and clean room attire

• Willing and able to prioritize cleaning throughout entirety of shift

• Follows directions and performs all tasks as assigned

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision sometimes

• Available to work 12 hours

• Available to work Sunday to Saturday (scheduled 3-4 days per week)
