Job Description
Forklift Equipment Technician
Pay Rate: $22-32/hr.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6am - 4pm, overtime and after hours may be required
Location: Pooler, GA
Purpose:
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment including forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, golf carts, floor scrubbers, and scissor lifts.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree in equipment maintenance and repair or relevant experience
- Certification as required
- 3+ years of relevant experience maintaining, troubleshooting and mechanically fixing forklifts, cherry pickers, reach trucks, golf carts, scrubbers and scissor lifts.
- Experience managing equipment repair functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Skilled in developing project documentation and tracking equipment performance
Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety and environmental policies; report incidents and near misses
- Coordinate with DC management on equipment maintenance, repairs, and prioritization
- Maintain service/repair records and provide monthly status reports
- Manage P&L budget information for equipment repairs
- Handle routine and emergency maintenance/repair service requests
- Oversee and adjust preventive maintenance programs
- Develop partnerships with vendors for timely, cost-effective services
- Monitor and adjust spending based on budget and priorities
- Review, approve, and verify completion of service requests
- Perform maintenance/repair functions on all DC equipment
- Train and develop DC personnel on minor maintenance and good operating practices
Working Conditions:
- Hourly position; may exceed 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week
- Typical hours: Monday - Friday, 6am - 4pm; may involve off-shift or weekend work
- Assist with emergency service calls outside typical business hours
