This position will be responsible for adhering to the production schedule for Formetco jobs/projects. This includes verifying all parts are properly measured, marked, cut, drilled, welded, fitted, aligned, and secured so that safety standards are always met. This role will work with production employees to ensure accuracy and quality on all jobs produced.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication according to order specifications.
• Reading and understanding drawings, blueprints, and CAD.
• Weld materials using the correct methods to join the metals together.
• Verifying finished work to insure it meets or exceeds tolerances as marked or indicated on prints, CAD, or as directed.
• Redlining and understanding of drawings and CAD to provide feedback to mechanical engineers as necessary.
• Ability to work independently to finish assigned work on time and above quality expectations.
• Perform duties as assigned by and under the supervision of a shop manager or engineer.
• Operating various power equipment to complete jobs.
• Reading and interpreting work orders.
• Understanding product schematics and assembly instructions.
• Using mathematics to mark, measure, cut, fit, and weld.
• Participation in product development meetings.
• Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
• Ensuring quality control standards are met.
• Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills and specific CAD viewer software knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and/or CAD viewers.
• Excellent Verbal and oral communication.
• Experience with a wide variety of mechanical assembly and fabrication.
• Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task daily.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs required. Standing 80% of the day.
• Highly organized with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Understanding of mechanical assembly and function a plus.
