Axiom Staffing is seeking an Applications Engineer at a client in York, PA that manufactures cranes. This is a direct hire opportunity.

The Applications Engineer will work closely with senior level engineers to create custom material handling solutions for our customers around the world.

Responsibilities include:

• Review customer inquiries for material handling equipment and prepare technical sales proposals, including engineering layouts and pricing.
• Interact closely with field sales agents to review application details and determine the best solution for customer requirements.
• Collaborate with the Design Engineering group at both the proposal stage and at the release of the order to production.
• Communicate with customers, including occasional on-site visits, to review technical requirements and options.
• Review incoming purchase orders and any resolve any differences between the order and the original proposal with the customer.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously, including requests for proposal and customer/agent communications, and follow through to completion.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with basic mechanical design & manufacturing processes, particularly welding and machining technologies.
• SolidWorks and/or AutoCad basic proficiency.
• Blueprint reading skills, familiarity with drawing standards (ANSI Y14.5, ISO)
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• ERP, CRM, or equivalent process management software experience preferred.
• Project Management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Education / Experience Level:

• Minimum: Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 – 5 years industry experience
• Experience in design of mechanical equipment, preferably fabricated structures, with some knowledge of electrical motors and controls.
