  • Independently perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on conveyor system, electrical systems, electronic controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, heating, refrigeration, air-conditioning, and other building systems and equipment.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Under the direction of a skilled maintenance technician or clearly written instructions from either hard copy or electronic format, performs specific tasks related to disassembling equipment, replacing parts relocating and reassembling equipment; assists higher level workers in locating and repairing equipment malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair conveyor motors, belts and system.
  • Maintain an awareness of equipment operation, especially excessive heat, vibration, and noise, reporting malfunctions, hazards or wear to supervisor.
  • Perform all assigned planned maintenance on conveyor system.
  • Maintain industrial equipment and perform diagnostics and maintenance as required.
  • Perform building maintenance as needed (carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical).
  • Perform welding repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Maintain parts inventory for conveyors and power equipment.
  • Completes or initiates work record sheets, as required.
  • Take readings from meters, gauges, counters and other monitoring and measuring devices. Maintain logs and other required records; reports on breakdowns and equipment being tested.
  • Follows established safety practices and requirements while performing all duties.
  • Follow lock out/tag out procedures as required and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain housekeeping expectations around all work areas including maintenance shop and work bench.
  • Assist 3rd party vendors and contractors as needed to complete repairs and projects.
  • Handle hazardous materials safely including acidic, caustic, volatile and explosive substances.
  • Comply with all OSHA safety regulations and practices.
  • Training and Communication
  • May drive a vehicle to transport tools, equipment, employees, materials or in the normal performance of assigned duties.


  • Extensive knowledge of conveyor systems and other fulfillment center systems including electrical, electronic controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC and plumbing
  • Adjust well to changes in work assignments and projects as needed
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Use equipment in various departments
  • Communicate well with co-workers, leads, supervisors and managers
  • Experience working in all areas of the distribution center preferred
  • Flexible in adjusting work schedule based upon needs of the business
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a professional manner
  • Follow all standard operating procedures
  • Work both independently or as part of a team
  • Capable of responding appropriately to constructive feedback and coaching
  • Capable of working well with co workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes
  • Must be performing at a satisfactory level in current position
  • Willingness to work in other departments as business needs require
  • Must become Forklift certified within 90 days of hire
  • Must have PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) experience
  • Basic computer experience is a plus.
